This is evident when the handicapper general guns down Harrison Bergeron and her empress. Hidden individuality is also evident when the presenter who reads the press conference does the reading while wearing a mask since she is pretty. Because Harrison is more handsome and stronger, he gets to carry the heaviest load of handicaps to weaken him. The tone of the story varies from fearful to happiness but ends up in a somber mood when main characters end up dead. Happy mood is evident when Harrison frees everyone in the studio from the slavery of wearing handicaps and dancing sets in.
